Jennie Lang is Vice-President, Advancement and has portfolio responsibility for UNSW’s newly established Division of Advancement. The Division of Advancement was established in October 2012 and is tasked with promoting philanthropy and alumni development at UNSW and advancing the University’s external relations. As Vice-President, Advancement, Jennie is the Chief Executive of UNSW Foundation Limited and a member of the University’s Executive Team.
Prior to this, Jennie was Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International) at UNSW where she was responsible for: the strategic international direction of UNSW, advancing strategic alliances and global education, international marketing and student recruitment and ensuring UNSW’s position at the forefront of best practice in international education.
Jennie has been involved in international education in Australia since 1987 and has focused on developing Australia's education links with Asia and beyond. She has held senior positions in international education, at UNSW since 1997, and previously was part of the pioneering international education teams at Brisbane CAE and the Queensland University of Technology in the late 1980s.
Jennie has Chaired the National Committee of Deputy/Pro-Vice-Chancellors (International) for Universities Australia (2009-2012), Chaired the Group of Eight International Directors Committee (2005-2010), represented UNSW on the Universitas 21 Manager’s Group, and was a Foundation Member of the State of New South Wales Premier’s Council on International Education (2011). Jennie currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Association of International Education Administrators’ in North America, and is a Foundation Member of the newly established Export Council of Australia and a member of the Asia-Society Australia Board.
Jennie has a Master of Education Research, a Bachelor of Education (with Distinction) and a Bachelor of Arts degree, all from the University of Newcastle, Australia.
