Dear members of the Academic Board and members of Standing Committees

As you know, the Academic Board was recently reviewed by an external Review Panel consisting of Professor Cindy Gallois (University of Queensland), Professor Hilary Winchester (University of South Australia) and Associate Professor Michael Walpole (Faculty of Law, UNSW). The Panel met with a large number of staff on 25-26 August 2009, received submissions and examined a range of documents relevant to the charter and practice of the Board.

The chair of the Review Panel, Prof Gallois, has delivered to me the Final Report of the External Review. The Report is attached and will be uploaded onto the Academic Board website this week.

Over the next two months, the Board and its Standing Committees will be discussing the Review Report’s recommendations and making plans for their implementation or other changes where appropriate. Please send your comments on the Report and its recommendations to a.b.review@unsw.edu.au by 12 October 2009, or raise them at one of the Academic Board or Standing Committee meeting segments set aside for discussion of the Review Report.
