Faculty Boards & Standing Committees

A key component of the academic governance structure at UNSW are the committees at grass-roots level, the Faculty Committees. The University of New South Wales Rules (2008), Section 3, requires each Faculty to meet as a Faculty Board at least once per year. The Rules also require each Faculty to establish a Standing Committee, an Education Committee (or an Undergraduate Education Committee and a Postgraduate Coursework Education Committee), a Research Committee (or a higher Degree Committee and a Research Management Committee). Each Faculty Standing Committee must also establish an Assessment Review Group. The Secretariat Services Department supports Faculty Boards and Faculty Standing Committees across the University.
