Dean’s Award for Excellence
![]() |
The 2006 Dean’s Award for Excellence in Art, Design and Education was presented to COFA Alumni Bronwyn Oliver at the opening ceremony of the Artexpress@COFA 06 exhibition held in late February at COFA’s Paddington campus.
As an undergraduate studying a Bachelor of Art Education in the late 1970’s at COFA (then known as the Alexander Mackie College of Advanced Education), Bronwyn Oliver was identified as a talent to watch. Oliver went on to obtain a Master of Art in Sculpture, also at COFA, and a second Masters degree from the Chelsea School of Art in London.
In awarding her the 2006 Dean’s Award, Professor Howard said: “Bronwyn Oliver’s contribution to Australian contemporary culture is both unique and highly significant. In turn, as a graduate, she has brought further distinction to this College and University.”
From an article by Kerry Thomas appearing in the COFA magazine Issue #16.
