NewSouth Innovations


NewSouth Innovations Pty Limited, the technology transfer company of UNSW, acts as the interface between business and UNSW researchers, and can discuss licensing, patenting, business formation, venture capital and mentoring opportunities.

Grants Management Office


UNSW's Grants Management Office facilitates the research efforts of UNSW staff by assisting with applications for grants and fellowships and the administration of externally awarded funds. The Office negotiates research grant contracts and external parties participation in research at UNSW. The Office also contains the Ethics Secretariat, and a team of Finance Office staff who assist researchers in the establishment and management of their grant accounts.

Grants Management also manages a number of partnership funding schemes from the Commonwealth Government that either directly or indirectly support the establishment of research partnerships. UNSW has a strong track record in grants success, being the largest single awardee of a number of these schemes.

UNSW International Projects


UNSW International Projects, a business of UNSW Global, provides specialised international consulting and education and training services for government, industry and regional development throughout Asia Pacific, the Middle East, South Asia and Africa. With over 25 years experience in development issues, capacity building, technical assistance and training, UNSWIP can utilise its global networks and professional expertise to meet your international development needs.

Expert Opinion Services also has a highly developed network of experts who consult to the legal and insurance industries providing expert opinion, as well as resourcing technical consultants and specialised testing services for industry - both private and public sector.

Commercial Contracting

Intellectual Property arrangements are determined according to the context of the research proposed and the relative contributions of each party.

UNSW has many years experience with contracting on University/Industry collaborative projects and will contract in a manner that is sensitive and equitable to the needs of all parties.
