Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS): Current Status
Area: School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences (BEES)

Location: Biomed Lecture Theatre B, UNSW Kensington campus.
Description: Dr Peter Cook, Chief Executive Officer, Cooperative Research Centre for Greenhouse Technologies (CO2CRC) will provide an assessment of the current status of CCS technology and its potential role in mitigation of carbon dioxide emissions.

Demonstration of CCS in Australia is vital to taking the technology forward. CO2CRC has recently established a world-leading project in south-western Victoria to demonstrate that carbon capture and storage (CCS) is a technically and environmentally safe way to make deep cuts into Australias greenhouse gas emissions.
