The proportion of both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people killed as a result of transport-related crashes increases sharply with the level of remoteness from an urban centre. However, Aboriginal Australians comprise the vast majority of those living in remote areas and are 2-3 times more likely to die from crash-related injuries than non-Aboriginal Australians.
