Elite Athletes and Performers
The Elite Athletes and Performers Program supports students both with a flexible entry process and flexible study arrangements while at UNSW.
Definitions
Elite athletes are defined according to the Australian Sports Commission's Elite Athlete Friendly University Agreement.
An elite performer is a student who has demonstrated excellence through performing arts, scholastic achievement or leadership on a national or international level.

Application Process
All applicants who meet the Elite Athlete and Performers Program criteria must complete the online form OR the application form. Completed applications with original or certified documentation must be received by Friday 4 December 2009. APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED.
Documents may be certified by a registered Justice of the Peace. All documents must be in English or include a certified English translation. If applying online, certified documentation must also be sent to the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Students) following the application process.
Applicants must also apply to their desired UNSW program through the appropriate avenue, the Universities Admission Centre (UAC) OR direct to UNSW through Apply Online.
Applicants to Undergraduate Programs
Undergraduate applicants are eligible to receive up to five bonus points on their ATAR rank (or recognised senior secondary qualification) for entry to most UNSW programs. Bonus points are not available for admission to the Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery program.
The Elite Athletes and Performers Bonus Points table provides a guide to the bonus points that a students could expect to receive.
Elite athletes should also visit the Scholarships website for information on sports scholarships as well UNSW Sport and Recreation.
Applicants to Postgraduate Programs
Prospective students applying for postgraduate programs who consider that they are elite athletes or performers should contact the Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Students).
Applications to the University Preparation Program (UPP)
The UPP is a preparatory study program for older students who either do not possess formal qualifications or whose academic qualifications do not satisfy the minimum entry requirements for admission to university.
A student who has been identified as an elite athlete or performer and who has completed an Australian Senior Secondary qualification (or equivalent) may seek admission to the University Preparation Program under the Elite Athletes and Performers University Entry Scheme. An elite athlete will have participated in sport at the level of national or international competition. Elite performers (including leaders) will have participated in significant national or international productions, competitions or events. For further information visit the UPP webpage.

Current Students - Support on Campus
The Elite Athletes and Performers Program also provides eligible current students in all study programs with the necessary support to successfully integrate their academic life with their external pursuits in the form of enrolment flexibility, cross-institutional study options and leave of absence for travel commitments.
Students have an obligation to complete the UNSW Flexibility of Study form, that is, when they receive their semester timetable, of any commitments they have.

Sara Hungerford
Sara is a 5th year Medicine student and UNSW Ben Lexcen Sports Scholar. She is a talented cricketer who is a member of the NSW Breakers squad and last year captained the NSW 2nd X1 team to victory in the Cricket Australia Cup. Sara is a conscientious student who is passionate about her Medicine studies as well as her cricket.

Johnno Cotterill
Johnno is a 3rd year Economics/Arts student and Ben Lexcen Sports Scholar at UNSW. Johnno is a member of the Australian Water Polo Team, having first made the team at the age of 19. He is currently playing professionally in the Spanish National League. Johnno is continuing with his studies at UNSW while living in Barcelona. The outstanding support and consideration from both the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and the Australian School of Business has enabled Johnno to pursue his sporting and academic goals.
