Program Selection

Choosing a university degree is one of the most important decisions you will make. We advise you to gather as much information as possible about the program you wish to study and the career it leads to.

As a guide, you should:

  • Think about your own interests, the subjects you liked to study at school, and your extra curricular hobbies and interests.
  • Think about the career that you would like to enter, including an understanding of the nature of your chosen industry, such as career development paths, opportunities and constraints. For more information visit Planning Your Career.
  • Talk to family and friends about their opinions and experiences.
  • Talk to your school careers adviser or teachers about study and work options.
  • Attend as many open days and information sessions as you can.
  • Look at the programs on offer at UNSW. Search the Online Handbook.
  • Read as much information as you can about UNSW programs and student life. Ask for program information to be sent to you - Online request forms.
