In 2006, UNSW was part of a consortium with the Queensland University of Technology QUT (lead organisation) and Charles Darwin University (CDU) that received nearly $200,000 of Carrick funding to conduct an educational leadership project focused on Associate Deans (Education) and Course Coordinators. Titled “Caught between a rock and several hard places: Cultivating the Roles of the Associate Dean (Teaching and Learning) and the Course Coordinator”, the aims of the project are to: acknowledge the leadership roles of Associate Deans, Learning and Teaching (ACE) and Teaching and Learning Champions (T&L Champions); Clarify the nature of these roles; Understand and share the challenges faced by those in these roles; Support leadership capacity building
