AGSM Ranks Highly in Asia
0th December
The Australian Graduate School of Management has excelled in academic reputation in the latest Asia-Inc rankings of Asian business schools. The AGSM was judged the outstanding academic institution by deans of leading business schools throughout Asia.
More than 35 business schools participated in the 2001 Asia-Inc survey of business schools. The AGSM ranked second overall, just behind Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Asia-Inc ranks business schools according to the quality of their MBA programs. It assesses three main areas: the academic resources made available to students, the calibre of the student body, and the reputation of the school among its peers.
The AGSM came top in academic reputation, which measures peer regard for the quality of research and teaching of the school. AGSM Dean, Professor Michael Vitale, said the result was a reflection of the dedication and expertise of the AGSM faculty. "To be ranked so highly by your peers is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of AGSM faculty over a sustained period. The challenge now is to utlilise our reputation and forge new global alliances that will expand the networks and opportunities for the school," Professor Vitale said.
