FIND YOUR FUTURE AT UNSW

0th December

UNSW is extending an invitation to high school students, their parents and anyone interested in higher education, to find out what the University is all about on Courses and Careers Day on Saturday, 1 September.

Not only will prospective students be able to chat to both staff and current students about the University, they will also be able to attend thirty-minute lectures on program and career options. The 124 lectures cover a diverse range of topics - everything from "A career in petroleum engineering" to "Studying criminology".

There will also be lectures on important topics for intending undergraduates: "Managing the transition from school to university" and "Choosing the program that is right for you".

Those unsure of which study program to choose can visit the Quadrangle Building and complete a short online inventory on their skills, interests, values and personality. Staff from the Careers and Employment Centre will then help identify appropriate university programs and possible career choices.

UNSW seeks to meet the needs of both a changing work environment and the demands of employers, by introducing innovative new programs designed with the future in mind. These include Entrepreneurs in Science, Portuguese, and Arts/Environmental Science. More information about new programs will be available in the Advisory Centre, in the Roundhouse.

Tours of the campus will be run by the "O Week" team, easily identified by their yellow shirts.

The Faculties of Arts & Social Sciences, Built Environment, Commerce & Economics, Engineering, Law, Science, Medicine, College of Fine Arts and Australian Defence Force Academy will all be involved.

Courses and Careers Day runs from 9am to 4pm. For more information contact the Student Recruitment Office on 9385 1844 or access their web site on www.ccday.unsw.edu.au
