Ericsson Supports UNSW
0th December
Ericsson and the University of New South Wales have strengthened their partnership, working together to develop stronger mobile communications technology research in Australia.
In support of research and development, Ericsson has provided UNSW's School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications with over $500,000 in funding.
Ericsson has signed a $400,000 two-year agreement with UNSW for research into novel hand over schemes for the next generation of mobile communication systems, with the aim of developing seamless communication in future wireless networks. In addition, the company has provided a $100,000 donation to be used for the general education and training of telecommunication engineers.
According to Professor Branko Celler, Head of the School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications: "The funding will enable access to specialist equipment and better facilities - this will allow us to continue to attract top students and staff to UNSW. It will also provide opportunities for staff and students to interact with Ericsson researchers around the world."
