0th December
UNSW's outstanding export achievements in the fields of education services, facilities, expertise and curriculum development has been recognised with the presentation of the 2001 Australian Export Award for education, organised by Austrade and the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
UNSW offers 400 undergraduate and post-graduate courses to international students. There are currently 8,200 overseas students enrolled in degree programs and another 1,800 in pre-university programs; the largest on-campus enrolment of international students in Australia and possibly in the world.
The students are drawn from more than 90 countries. Although students from Asia and the Pacific make up the largest groups, increasing numbers are now being attracted from the United States and Europe. UNSW has also developed 200 sister university partnerships around the world.
For the last three years UNSW has won the NSW Premier's Exporter of the Year Award in the category of education, awarded by the Directors of the Australian Institute of Export. In addition, Asia-Week magazine has ranked UNSW in the top ten universities in the Asian region for four successive years.
