Major Export Award for UNSW
0th December
For the third year in a row, the University of New South Wales has been named the State's foremost exporter of education.
In a recent ceremony, the University was awarded the Premier's 2001 Exporter of the Year Award in the category of education by the Directors of the Australian Institute of Export (NSW).
UNSW offers 400 undergraduate and post-graduate courses to international students. There are currently 7,700 overseas students enrolled in degree programs and another 1,600 in pre-university programs; the largest on-campus enrolment of international students in Australia and possibly in the world.
The students are drawn from more than 90 countries. Although students from Asia and the Pacific make up the largest groups, increasing numbers are now being attracted from the United States and Europe.
Asia-Week magazine has ranked UNSW in the top ten universities in the Asian region for four successive years.
