RURAL HIGH SCHOOL MEDICINE CAREER WEEK

0th December

Students from rural and regional areas with their eyes on a career in medicine are invited to attend the 2002 Rural High Schools Medicine Career Week. .

The week long workshop, co-ordinated by the Rural Health Unit at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), is aimed at helping rural students gain entry into medicine programs. The first workshop was held in January of this year and was described as an invaluable experience by all involved.

Students who are currently in Year 10 and meet the prerequisite of entering a medicine program and those in Year 11 who have decided on medicine as a career are invited to attend the 2002 Workshop, being held from January 20th to January 25th.

Students attending the workshop are based at UNSW and visit the University of Newcastle and the University of Sydney. The workshop exposes students to city and university life and, through familiarising students with the medicine courses on offer, encourages their interest in studying medicine.

Applications close 16 November 2001.
