LAW AND TERRORISM IN THE UK

As nations around the world struggle to come to terms with the events of September 11, the UK and Australia are drafting new anti-terrorism laws that have provoked considerable controversy and debate.
One of the UK's leading public lawyers will talk about the UK response, which has important implications for the current Australian debate, at a public lecture in Sydney next week. Professor Sir David Williams is Emeritus Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cambridge, Emeritus Rouse Ball Professor of English Law, also at Cambridge, and President of the University of Wales at Swansea.
The lecture is hosted by the Law Faculty of the University of New South Wales.
