NEW UNSW WEBSITE FOR RURAL STUDENTS
0th December
The University of New South Wales has developed a new website for prospective students from regional and rural areas.
The site is a 'one-stop-shop' for rural students considering university study, which draws together key information on courses, costs, scholarships, accommodation, services, and university life.
It has been developed by the Equity and Diversity Unit, in consultation with students and staff.
"UNSW has made rural students a priority through additional scholarships, increased access to accommodation, rural entry schemes and rural mentoring programs. The new website will make this information more easily available to rural students," says the Unit's Director, Jude Stoddart.
UNSW's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Wyatt R Hume has this message for rural students: "We value rural students and their contribution to the UNSW community. Choosing what you want to study and where to study are always difficult decisions.
"At UNSW, we recognise that leaving your community, your family and your friends can be especially tough. We hope that this web site will provide you with information on all the educational opportunities we offer and assist you to get the most out of studying here," Professor Hume says.
