Professor Rory Hume last night delivered his inaugural address as Vice-Chancellor of the University of New South Wales.
In his public lecture, entitled Crossroads and Beyond: Building Great Research Universities, Professor Hume traced the growth of the modern university, focusing particularly on the development of research institutions. Drawing on his experience as an academic and administrator both here and in the United States, he outlined what he believes is the way forward for Australia’s universities and for UNSW.
