Visual arts workshops, performances, and the 'Dance Your Arts Off' dance party are some of the activities on the bill this week for the University Union's Artsweek 2002.
Artsweek intern, Mantej Singh, will host a series of workshops in drawing, painting, textiles, crafts, reverse garbage, video, multimedia, photography and web, during the week.
Mantej says the workshops are designed to "allow participants to take art 'off the wall', while addressing issues of cultural significance".
Workshops held earlier in the week will culminate in a panel discussion on 'Harmony, unity, and cultural diversity', and multiculturalism in art, to be held on Wednesday September 11.
The Society of Orchestra and Pipers (SOAP), conducted by Sydney Symphony's Richard Gill, will round off the week with a performance of Romeo and Juliet in the Roundhouse on Friday (September 13). This will be followed by Jazz in the Beer Garden, also at the Roundhouse.
