MEDIA, NEWS & EVENTSSustainable Living Competition Expo and award ceremony17 November 2003 Channel V presenters Mike Kerry and Jabba will be hosting this year's Sustainable Living Competition awards to be held on Friday December 5. Innovations, eco-solutions and educational projects produced by Australia's youth will be on show. The Sustainable Living competition attracts more than 1,000 entries from high schools across Australia. It is the largest activity of its kind and has reached millions of school students in the four years it has been running. Some of the student entries include:
What: Sustainable Living Competition Expo and award ceremony When: 10am to 2.30pm, Friday December 5 Where: The Science Theatre, UNSW, Kensington campus The day will also showcase displays including the UNSW student-built solar car, a UNSW hybrid petrol-electric car that uses 50 percent less fuel and has 80 percent less emissions and a vege-powered car that runs on used vegetable oil. Visitors can measure their 'eco-footprint' with the interactive 'Bigfoot' calculator, learn about living sustainably and meet the 2dayFM Black Thunder crew.
