MEDIA, NEWS & EVENTSVice-Chancellor commends high achievers
15 October 2003
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Rory Hume, has commended more than 140 of the University's most exceptional students at a High Achievers' reception in the Scientia this week.
The students were selected from all faculties and are at different stages of study: first year, final year and honours. They were recognised not only for their academic achievements, but for their contribution to UNSW and the broader community.
"UNSW has a huge range of activities that our students can participate in and it is often students' engagement with activities outside their discipline that distinguishes them as much as their academic work," Professor Hume said.
Among those attending the reception were high school teachers who had been nominated by the commended students as exceptional teachers, as well as principals from local high schools.
