Building bridges between business and universities

As guest speaker at the Faculty of Commerce and Economics recent Alumni Leaders’ Dinner, David Murray (Commonwealth Bank CEO), emphasised the need to increase collaboration between business and universities. The Dinner was held to thank members of the Alumni Leaders' Network - one of a number of initiatives of the Faculty Advisory Board - to build stronger links with the business world.

David Murray was recently appointed Chair of the Federal Government's newly established Business/Industry/Higher Education Collaboration Council (BIHECC). The Council advises the Government on ways to increase collaboration between the higher education sector and other public and private business, industry, community and educational organisations.
