IDP Education Australia is to be the exclusive recruiter of international students for the University of New South Wales.
UNSW has signed an agreement with IDP to recruit students for UNSW’s Sydney and Canberra campuses as well as UNSW Asia, which will be the only foreign-owned university in the new Singapore Education Hub with a teaching and research focus.
The agreement, signed today by UNSW Vice-Chancellor Professor Mark Wainwright and IDP CEO Mr Anthony Pollock, builds on an already strong relationship between UNSW and IDP.
Mr Pollock said IDP welcomed the opportunity to engage more strategically with UNSW, which has developed an enviable international reputation.
Working with UNSW Asia as it develops a permanent footprint in Singapore is particularly exciting for IDP and in line with its strategic direction to focus its activities on the Asian region.
Mr Pollock said IDP recognises that UNSW intends to offer student-centred education with superior research facilities, flexible study program structures and a stimulating and satisfying education environment connected strategically to the wider world.
IDP presently recruits about 20 percent of international students studying at Australian institutions.
