UNSW Associate Professor of Psychiatry, Kay Wilhelm, is the fourth UNSW psychiatrist to win the prestigious Founders' Medal of the Australasian Society for Psychiatric Research (ASPR). The 2005 medal was awarded to Professor Wilhelm for her significant contribution to psychiatric research throughout her career. The inaugural winner in 1998 was UNSW Professor of Psychiatry Gavin Andrews; Professor Gordon Parker, who is based at the Black Dog Institute won in 1999 and the head of school, Professor Philip Mitchell was awarded the prize last year.
