Professor Robert Wood, from the Australian Graduate School of Management, in the Faculty of Business, has been made a Fellow of the prestigious Academy of Social Sciences in Australia.
The Academy is an autonomous, non-governmental organisation, devoted to the advancement of knowledge and research in the various social sciences.
The award recognises Professor Wood’s outstanding contribution to management research and education in Australia.
“Bob is a distinguished international scholar with an impressive research record. He has made a significant contribution to the development of work motivation theory in general, and social cognitive theory more specifically,” said the Dean of the Faculty of Business, Professor Alec Cameron.
“His work has furthered our understanding of how motivational and cognitive processes influence performance and learning in managerial decision-making and problem solving,” he said.
Professor Wood is Director of the recently launched Accelerated Learning Laboratory (ALL) that conducts accelerated development programs to prepare people for senior leadership roles.
Professor Wood has an extensive list of refereed articles in prestigious international publications, as well as numerous book chapters and monographs. His published work has received over 1500 citations worldwide.
