UNSW medical researchers have won three of four awards recognising effective public communication on public health issues.
The national not-for-profit group Research Australia awarded the NSW Medical/Media awards this month.

UNSW Professor Bernie Tuch, who is Director of the Diabetes Transplant Unit, was acknowledged for his participation in reporting of stem cell research and his research into diabetes.
Research Australia is an alliance of organisations and companies working to make health and medical research a higher national priority.
UNSW Professor Peter Schofield, who is the Executive Director of the Prince of Wales Medical Research Institute (POWMRI), won for his contribution to the stem cell debate.
