Contractual Arrangements

UNSW provides research services to industry, and has within the Grants Management Office a contract support service. The staff at the Grants Management Office will assist in drafting and negotiating research contracts. Contracts for external research funding should be submitted to the Grants Management Office for a review and negotiation on behalf of University staff. The Grants Management Office will obtain the signature of those authorised to sign Research Contracts on behalf of the University.

The contract advisers within the Grants Management Office can assist industry research partners with various template documents for Research Contracts, Material Transfer Agreements, Memoranda of Understanding, Confidentiality or Non-disclosure Agreements and Student Agreements. The contracts advisers will advise you on those University policies that impact on research activities at the University such as the Intellectual Property Policy , Human Ethics Policy and Animal Ethics Policy. The contracts support service provided by the Grants Management Office seeks to ensure that the terms and conditions for all external research funding appropriately acknowledge the valuable expertise and resources provided by the University.
