David Ward<br/>Vice-President, Human ResourcesDavid Ward is the Vice-President, Human Resources at UNSW Sydney. As Vice-President, Human Resources, David is a member of the University Senior Team and leads the HR unit, providing strategic and operational support to meet the University’s needs in the full breadth of HR activities including recruitment, performance management, leadership and development, employee relations and workplace diversity. Key HR staff are embedded in faculties and this provides a strong link between the strategies and direction of the University and work being done at the local level.

David has been part of the HR team at UNSW since 1996, with a six-month secondment to a boutique management consultancy firm in 2006-2007. Prior to becoming the Vice-President, Human Resources and HR Director, David led the Industrial Relations team at UNSW where the focus of his responsibility was on advising management through significant workplace change, performance-management issues and ultimately developing strategy for and leading enterprise bargaining negotiations with unions.
