Regulating the availability of alcohol is a key way to reduce harm from alcohol consumption and local governments play a significant role.

This fellowship provides the first systematic examination of the impact and development of local government regulation on alcohol availability based on comparative policy analysis.

The findings can inform Australian planning and licensing policies to help appropriate regulation of alcohol outlets to reduce alcohol-related harm.
