Artist statement

‘Doll houses’ is a body of work incorporating spray paint and recycled cardboard. This work utilises a loose and abstract style of spray painting alongside the structural properties of cardboard, bringing together the practices of sculpture and painting. The piece builds upon a series of previous works by the artist utilising fluorescent road marking spray paints, cardboard, and motifs of childhood. ‘Doll houses’ explores and invokes a balance between childish innocence and the gravity of adulthood.
