Artist statement

The large-scale digital drawing Yonderland (2023) was created using a combination of virtual brushes, which mimicked the effects of authentic art materials such as blue ink and watercolor. The work was produced gradually over the course of 5 weeks, from an early version of linear sketch towards the addition of pigments, the incorporation of texts and finally atmospheric detailing. Yonderland is an interdimensionally located fictional kingdom that represents the utopian way of life, but it also satirizes the ideology of utopia itself through subtle imageries and texts that hint the naïveté of the scenario.
