Davie Mach

Bachelor of Commerce (Tax and Accounting)

He always knew he wanted to be an entrepreneur. Davie decided to pursue a cadetship in accounting, once he realised how vital that skillset is for running a successful business.

He knew he would have to study while doing the cadetship. Davie wanted to be in classrooms with the best and brightest students from Australia and across the world. He also wanted to study at a university known for having outstanding graduates and a strong industry reputation.

Davie recognised UNSW's entrepreneurial spirit and chose the Business School's Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Accounting and Taxation. During the selection process for his cadetship, he found firms recognised the quality of his degree. They were aware he would be a determined and capable cadet. Davie secured a role in a mid-sized firm at age 17.

He studied while working full-time. Although there were stressful times at work and in his studies, he found the support from UNSW invaluable. Since graduating, Davie has realised that UNSW's reputation as one of the top business schools in Australia means his new teams and clients trust his advice.

After working for the likes of Hall Chadwick and KPMG, Davie noticed it is difficult for small businesses to access good tax and accounting advice. He decided to branch out on his own and create Box Advisory Services.

In less than three years, Davie has helped more than 500 small businesses and contractors with tax and accounting advice tailored specifically to their organisation and industry.
