UNSW Tax Clinic is a free service for financially vulnerable individuals and small businesses who would otherwise not have access to tax advice and support. Our Student Volunteers (AHEGS-Recognised) are an integral part of our mission – and our team.
Open to all students from any Faculty across UNSW, during your volunteer experience you will be supervised and mentored by our dedicated team of Clinical Supervisors. Depending on your skill-set and preferences, you will be given opportunities to help real clients (under supervision), design and deliver community rights-based education initiatives, and assist with research and advocacy to address systemic injustice within the tax-transfer system.
Being a Student Volunteer (AHEGS-Recognised) at UNSW Tax Clinic will give you an immersive, interdisciplinary and invaluable experience while making a positive difference to the lives of financially vulnerable individuals and small businesses.
Places are limited and only offered on a competitive Expression of Interest (EOI) process.
Please ensure you meet the Eligibility Criteria before submitting your application.
Shortlisted students will be called in for an interview round. After the interviews, the selection committee will advise you of the outcome of your application via your student email account.
UNSW Tax Clinic was an impactful opportunity like no other. Through community education, developing professional networks and improving access to tax justice, it created an immensely rewarding and inspiring learning experience.
