We believe that times like this are opportunities for us all to connect with and learn from one another in the wider community. As a mentor to our UNSW Business School students, you will have the opportunity to draw on your professional experiences to guide and inspire the next generation of business leaders during their transition from study to work. Career Mentoring Program

The UNSW Business School Career Mentoring Program (CMP) pairs the School's most ambitious business students with accomplished alumni and industry professionals for a three-month mentoring relationship. Chartered Accountants ANZ Australia partners with UNSW Business School to deliver the program.

Mentors provide advice and guidance about career opportunities and navigating the world of work post-university. The mentoring relationship will help improve the mentee’s networking and professional skills, boost confidence as well as clarify career goals and aspirations. The program can be delivered 100% online, or in person in accordance with the Government’s social distancing regulations.

Over a 12-week program, mentors will:

  • Connect with their mentee on 5 occasions, either online or over the phone, between June and August
  • Act as a guide/role model to their mentee and focus on developing their career ready skills

The students

Mentees are domestic or international students either in their penultimate or final year of an undergraduate Business School degree or enrolled in a postgraduate Business School degree (excluding those with professional work experience).

Mentor expectations

We are looking for mentors that have at least five years of professional business experience. CMP requires a minimum of five hours in-person (in person or virtually) with one mentee over the course of the mentoring relationship. As a UNSW Business School Mentor, your role is to challenge, inspire, encourage and support your mentee to achieve their goals around their career development.
