Stuart khan

Stuart Khan is the Director of the newly established Australian Graduate School of Engineering (AGSE) and Professor of Civil & Environmental Engineering at the University of New South Wales (UNSW).

Stuart's research field is water quality and treatment, and he has published over 170 peer reviewed journal articles on issues relating to trace chemical contaminants in drinking water, wastewater and recycled water. Stuart is a member of the Water Quality Advisory Committee (WQAC) to the Australian National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) and Chair of the Recreational Water Quality Advisory Committee (RWQAC) to the NHMRC. These committees are responsible for the development and update of Australian water quality guidelines, including the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines. Stuart is also a member of the National Water Grid Advisory Body, advising the National Water Grid Authority and the Australian Minister for Infrastructure on Commonwealth Government investments in national water infrastructure priorities.  In 2015, Stuart was named among Australia’s Top 100 Most Influential Engineers by Engineers Australia.

Natalia Giraldo, Project Manager Strategic Initiatives, Faculty of Engineering UNSW.

Natalia Giraldo joined UNSW last year as the Project Manager at The Australian Graduate School of Engineering AGSE. She’s working on the operational development of the AGSE including the cause catalogue, business model and collaboration with The Australian Graduate School of Management AGSM.

Natalia has a background in urban planning and architecture and developed multiple transport projects in Europe such as the “Grand Paris” in France.
