Bionics is the branch of Biomedical Engineering that brings the worlds of biology and electronics together. Bionics includes the development of neural prostheses that address a range of sensory and neurological disorders, through artificial stimulation of neurons. Famous examples are the bionic ear and bionic eye, which enable functional hearing and vision respectively. Our research focuses on the development of such devices and the methods to effectively use stimulation to achieve the desired therapeutic outcome.
