Heat flux concentrator is a device designed as an assembly of materials with different thermal properties, to create an extremely high heat flux flow. Such device can be used as a thermal energy harvester. We use numerical model paired with an optimisation algorithm to create the most efficient design of such a device. The aim of the project is to extend the in-house design and analysis framework to time-dependent phenomena.
The project is computer based, and access to NCI high-performance computing facilities will be provided.
A design tool, capable to create and analyse optimal shape configurations, implemented within a matlab code.
