Description of field of research:

Quantum mechanics, supercomputers and python now allow us to predict material properties with good accuracy, leading to rapid advances in solar and renewable energy. The focus of the work, done entirely on a (super)computer, are to find new scalable materials for multijunction 'silicon tandem' solar cells with efficiencies above 30%, and nanomaterials for batteries and fluorescent light concentrators.
