Description of field of research:

Directed energy systems are becoming an important part of defensive systems particularly swarms of devices that must be disabled rapidly. UNSW is undertaking world-leading research in the development of power sources for these directed energy systems. This project will have you working on this frontier technology developing a hardware modular medium voltage power supply. The modules will develop 5kV from a 48V battery source and must be able to be series connected with upto 10 modules so as to develop upto 50kV with a supply current of 25mA or more.
