Until now the human race has been engaged in 'space exploration'. In the future we’ll need to adopt new 'pioneering' methods such as living off the land to settle new territories with a permanent human presence. This lecture will discuss exploration vs. pioneering and will identify technologies needed to make in-situ resource utilisation a feasible reality in space.

Presented by Robert P. Mueller, Senior Technologist, NASA Kennedy Space Center.
