In general, water proton relaxation in condensed matter can be described by a short T2. After a short introduction to the basics of magnetic resonance, MR sequences will be discussed that circumvent the typical issues related to fast proton signal decay. As these sequences can be rather demanding on the MR hardware, novel adaptations will be shown on how to mitigate acoustic noise problems, and increase spectral SNR.
