Talk About It

Personalise

“Talk About It" is a mental health initiative launched by pharmaceutical company BeiGene, aimed at providing links to mental health resources for healthcare professionals (HCPs), individuals living with and beyond cancer, and their caregivers. Developed and evaluated in the United States, the program has demonstrated acceptability and appropriateness for the American population.

BeiGene are exploring whether the initiative would have benefit and relevance in the Australian context. The cultural landscape in Australia is notably different to the U.S., both in terms of the broader national culture and its diverse populations, including Chinese, Southeast Asian, Indian and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. This study aims to adapt the “Talk About It” resources to the Australian context and evaluate its potential integration into the Australian healthcare setting.

What does this study aim to achieve?

This study will explore how the “Talk About It” resources can be adapted for use in the Australian context. Evaluation will involve key stakeholders from across the healthcare spectrum, including oncologists, General Practitioners (GPs), allied health workers, as well as community groups and consumers with lived experience. The study will also explore different strategies for dissemination of the resources to encourage the uptake and impactful use of these resources.
