Development of a preferred method to cost the health benefits of active transport
This project, funded by the New South Wales Ministry of Health, has developed and piloted a multi-state life table model for quantifying and valuing the health benefits and costs of policy and project proposals that could increase, or decrease, active transport participation, for use in economic business cases. The reference-case parameter values (dollars per kilometre travelled by active transport) generated using the model have been adopted in the Cost-Benefit Analysis Guide of Transport for NSW.
