Morning tea with IHealthE
Co-design through Co-location
Co-design through Co-location
The Morning Tea with IHealthE | Co-design through Co-location event brought together clinicians, researchers, and university staff to celebrate IHealthE’s relocation to the Integrated Acute Services Building (IASB). This strategic move enabled closer collaboration between healthcare professionals and university researchers, fostering a dynamic environment for innovation.
During the event, participants explored how access to dedicated prototyping and ideation spaces was transforming the way healthcare challenges were addressed. Presentations and discussions highlighted how co-location encouraged knowledge sharing, creative problem-solving, and the co-design of more effective healthcare solutions.
Attendees also gained insights into how this collaborative model accelerated innovation, empowered clinicians, and drove meaningful improvements in healthcare delivery. The morning tea served as a showcase of the powerful outcomes that emerge when research and clinical expertise come together under one roof.

With a background in biomechanical engineering, the focus of Professor Lynne Bilston's research is on how the soft tissues in the human body respond to mechanical loading—both those loads which cause injury and those which are part of normal function. She develops novel methods for measuring biomechanical properties and behavior of soft tissues in humans, particularly using Magnetic Resonance Imaging and rheometry. She applies these techniques to study mechanisms of traumatic injury, disorders of cerebrospinal fluid flow in the brain and spinal cord, and obstructive sleep apnoea.
