This webinar will present an overview of the findings from evaluating the kava pilot program. The program aims to provide greater access to kava in Australia, understand the social, cultural, economic, and health effects of increased availability, respect State and Territory regulations, and increase trade opportunities for Australia and Pacific Island countries. The evaluation was conducted to determine the pilot program's impact.

About the speaker:

Dr Winifred Asare-Doku is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre at UNSW. Her research interests focus on alcohol & other drugs and mental health and well-being among priority populations, including people of culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and the criminal justice population.
