Harm reduction for Indigenous communities: Research and emerging frameworks
This webinar critically examines harm reduction for Indigenous communities, highlighting promising approaches as well as conceptual and practical barriers. Drawing on two recent scoping reviews of harm reduction and opioid agonist treatment across the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, the webinar also summarises insights from Indigenous presentations at the 2025 Harm Reduction International conference in Bogotá, Colombia. Participants will gain perspectives on culturally grounded strategies and emerging frameworks for harm reduction in Indigenous contexts.
