Cannabis is a ubiquitous, hotly debated and increasingly decriminalised substance worldwide. Meanwhile, the evidence on the risks and benefits of contemporary cannabis use is still emerging. This presentation will overview the research to date on cannabis related risks and potential, with a focus on neurobiology and new international developments on cannabis metrics.

 

About this speaker:

Professor Valentina Lorenzetti is the Lead of the Neuroscience of Addiction & Mental Health Program and the Founding Deputy Director of the Healthy Brain and Mind Research Centre at ACU. Professor Lorenzetti believes that everyone affected by addiction deserves the opportunity for better life outcomes. Her research aims to identify the core mechanisms of addiction and target them using novel interventions, through advanced multimodal MRI, global multi-site studies, and international consensus on new metrics.
