This presentation explores the goals that patients initiating long-acting injectable buprenorphine (LAIB) treatment for opioid use disorder want to achieve and discusses the findings with reference to current UK policy.
About the speaker
Jo Neale is Professor of Addictions Qualitative Research based within the National Addiction at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, King’s College London, UK. She is also Conjoint Professor in the Centre for Social Research in Health at UNSW Sydney, Australia. Jo trained in social work and has conducted qualitative research on topics including homelessness, drug treatment effectiveness, opioid overdose, substance use and sleep, and online and app-based interventions for substance use disorder. She is currently Senior Qualitative Editor of the journals “Addiction” and the “International Journal of Drug Policy”.
