Research
The novel aspect of the clinic lies in the integration of genomic research and implementation science, ensuring the benefits of precision medicine are effectively translated into improved patient outcomes.

We’re investigating factors affecting the implementation of the Precision Care Clinic into routine cancer care. This will guide the development of an implementation blueprint to facilitate equitable scale-up.
Our research focuses on developing processes and resources to facilitate shared decision making between experts for optimal patient-centred care. We're also co-designing measures that represent success from both the patient and clinician perspective.
Crucially, our initiative involves establishing a Precision Cancer Learning Health System to accelerate the rapid integration of research findings and facilitate ongoing improvements in patient care.
The Precision Care Initiative offers PhD scholarship opportunities. Please visit the UNSW i2i website to find out more about project details and eligibility criteria.
Funding
This inaugural precision care clinic is the first of its kind resulting from the research program funded by the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF 2020 Rapid Applied Research Translational grant, RARUR000125). This initiative is committed to identifying strategies for optimising the delivery of evidence-based precision cancer medicine within the Australian public health system. Our goal is to enable effective and efficient scaling up of these services.
